Crypto exchange tokens

The leading crypto exchange tokens ranked by market capitalisation

Exchange tokens are the in-house cryptocurrencies issued by crypto exchanges — such as BNB from Binance, OKB from OKX or CRO from Crypto.com. They give holders perks like trading-fee discounts, access to new projects or a share in token burns. Below you will find the leading exchange tokens ranked by market capitalisation, with the current price and both the 24-hour and 7-day change.

Exchange token ranking (CEX)

The table ranks exchange tokens by market capitalisation — big names like BNB, OKB or CRO at the top, smaller projects further down. For each you will find the price and how it has performed over the day, week and year. Expand the rest of the list below the table.

What are exchange tokens?

Exchange tokens, also known as exchange coins, are issued by the crypto exchanges themselves as their native currency. They typically offer holders trading-fee discounts, higher VIP tiers, priority access to new projects (launchpad) or the option to stake. The best known is BNB from Binance, followed by the likes of OKB (OKX), CRO (Crypto.com), LEO (Bitfinex) or KCS (KuCoin).

Many exchanges also regularly burn a portion of their tokens (buyback-and-burn), reducing the total supply — which tends to be the main draw for holders. The value of an exchange token is, however, closely tied to the success of and trust in that exchange. The table ranks projects by market capitalisation, so the largest and most liquid names sit at the top.

Before you invest in exchange tokens

The price of an exchange token lives and dies with the fate of a single exchange — a hack, a regulatory clampdown or liquidity trouble can knock the value down very quickly. A stark example was the collapse of the FTX exchange and its FTT token, which lost almost everything within days. This makes them an asset with pronounced counterparty risk. The best-known exchange tokens

Exchange tokens share one thing: their value rests on usefulness on the exchange (discounts, staking, launchpad) and trust in the operator. The larger and more stable the exchange, the stronger the token tends to be. The following projects currently top the exchange-token ranking by market capitalisation.

BNB (Binance)

The token of the world's largest crypto exchange. It is used for fee discounts, as the fuel of the BNB Chain blockchain and to take part in the launchpad. Binance also regularly burns BNB, reducing its supply. It is by far the largest exchange token.

OKB (OKX) and CRO (Crypto.com)

OKB is the native token of the OKX exchange, with perks for traders, while CRO (Cronos) powers the Crypto.com ecosystem, including its own blockchain and payment cards. Both are among the most established exchange tokens.

LEO (Bitfinex) and KCS (KuCoin)

LEO Token was issued by the Bitfinex exchange and is used for discounts and buybacks. KCS (KuCoin Token) rewards holders with a share of the exchange's revenue and fee discounts.

Gate (GT), Bitget (BGB) and others

Smaller but growing exchanges have their tokens too — GT (Gate), BGB (Bitget) or WBT (WhiteBIT). They offer similar perks but are more sensitive to the size and stability of the exchange behind them.

Exchange tokens can be interesting for active traders thanks to the discounts, but as an investment they carry risk tied to a single company. The FTT case is a warning — before you get involved, weigh up how trustworthy the exchange is and be prepared for high volatility.

Frequently asked questions

Which are the best exchange tokens?+

The largest exchange tokens by market capitalisation include BNB (Binance), OKB (OKX), Cronos/CRO (Crypto.com), LEO (Bitfinex), KuCoin (KCS) and Gate (GT). You will find the full ranking in the table above.

What are exchange tokens used for?+

They typically give holders trading-fee discounts, higher VIP tiers, priority access to new projects (launchpad) or staking. Many exchanges also burn a share of their tokens regularly, which reduces the supply.

Are exchange tokens a safe investment?+

No — their value is firmly tied to a specific exchange and its health. When an exchange runs into trouble (a hack, regulation, insolvency as with FTX/FTT), the token can fall sharply. This list is for tracking the market, not a recommendation to buy.
